Please note that under Maryland law a person can have only one property listed as that person's principal residence -- the residence where the person actually lives. The Income Tax Offset Credit ("Credit") is available only for properties that are the property owner's principal residence, and you must have a Homestead Tax Credit application filed with SDAT. To continue to recieve the Credit, you must certify that the property in question ("Premise Address", above) is your principal residence.
You must submit Proof of Residence for the Premise Address in order to receive the Credit. You MUST SUBMIT a copy of an Electric Bill for the Premise Address that shows your name as the party being billed, and the bill must be from the last 2 months.
You MUST ALSO SUBMIT a copy of one of the following: your current Driver's License, OR the first page of your most recent Maryland Income Tax Return, OR the first page of your most recent Federal Income Tax Return. Address must match the Premise Address. You must also have a Homestead Tax Credit application filed with SDAT.
